Wilderness 50th logoSeptember 27, 2014, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Claremont, California

A special event celebrating 50 years of the Wilderness Act! The California Wilderness Coalition, Angeles National Forest, the Bureau of Land Management, Joshua Tree National Park, San Bernardino National Forest, RSABG, and others are partnering for this event to celebrate our amazing wilderness areas.

There are two parts to the celebration: the Wilderness Fair, and Walk for the Wild. You can sign up to participate in the walk or just come enjoy the festival with partner booths, food trucks, Leave No Trace Traveling Trainers, and more. It's also National Public Lands Day!

There is a registration fee for the walk that includes Garden admission; if you don't want to walk, the rest of the Wilderness Fair is free. Registration for the Walk for the Wild is $12 per person through Active.com through September 16. Registration increases to $20 on September 17.

Interested in photography? Submit an entry to our wilderness photo contest! Photos must be your own and taken in a designated wilderness area. See http://hostphotocontest.com/contest/wilderness50 for contest rules and information.
